Is there a significant time-saving benefit with private flights in terms of luggage retrieval?
Absolutely! With private flights, there’s no waiting for luggage at the carousel at international airports. Your belongings are readily available upon arrival, ensuring a quicker transition to your destination.
What if my luggage doesn't fit on the plane?
No worries, we’ve got you covered. Our agents will request your luggage measurements and the number of bags, providing recommendations based on the passenger count. If, for some reason, your luggage exceeds the limit, our agents will offer an alternative plane option, or we can arrange ground transfer for your luggage. Your convenience is our priority!

More on Luggage Guide for Your Private Charter with Fly Adventure Air
When booking a private charter, luggage is one of the first questions travelers ask. Unlike commercial airlines, where baggage policies are rigid and often confusing, Fly Adventure Air makes it straightforward. This guide explains exactly how much luggage you can bring, what types of bags work best, and how to avoid surprises on the day of your flight.
Whether you’re traveling with family to a Costa Rican beach resort, flying with surfboards, or bringing camera gear for an adventure, this page covers everything you need to know.
Why Private Charter Means Easier Luggage
Flying private in Costa Rica isn’t just about saving time—it’s also about avoiding the baggage headaches of commercial airlines:
- No lost luggage — bags travel with you, not separately.
- No waiting at baggage claim — your bags are handed to you the moment you land.
- No hidden fees — luggage allowances are transparent from the start.
- Direct access — no connecting flights where luggage can be delayed or misplaced.
For travelers with surfboards, golf clubs, or professional gear, private charters offer a level of flexibility and peace of mind that big airlines can’t match.
Packing Tips for Private Air Travel
To make the most of your luggage allowance, keep these practical tips in mind:
- ✅ Use soft-sided bags or duffels. They fit better in smaller cargo compartments than hard-shell suitcases.
- ✅ Weigh your bags in advance. Avoid last-minute surprises by checking weight at home.
- ✅ Plan for odd-sized items. Let us know ahead if you’re bringing sports equipment, musical instruments, or photography cases.
- ✅ Prioritize essentials. Medications, documents, and valuables should stay in your carry-on.
💡 Example: If you’re bringing a surfboard to Tamarindo, we’ll help arrange storage and ensure your chosen plane can accommodate it.
What Happens if Your Luggage Exceeds the Limit?
We understand things happen—especially for families or photographers with extra gear. If your luggage doesn’t fit:
Our team will assess bag size and weight.
We may recommend upgrading to a larger aircraft.
Ground transfer for oversized items can also be arranged.
The goal is simple: you travel comfortably without stress.
Restricted Items (Safety First)
For everyone’s safety, certain items are prohibited on board private flights. These include:
- Flammable liquids or gases
- Explosives or fireworks
